i simply consider these to be more elements that i have to adapt to. but fortunately for me, i do not mind for my strategy to be dictated by my class or my opponent's class or by who goes first. don't get me wrong - i like having options as well. if that is the way you feel, i can understand your frustration. I guess it all boils down to the above statement. it's all a matter of patience and training. at the very least you will see that those games will become very close (compared to what you thought was possible).
anyway, my point is that you definitely have the potential to beat those golem masters if you improve as a player (even when going second). i am so sad i didn't save that replay just to show you guys what you're missing. suffice it to say my attack was ruthless but CIever pulled out a sensational defense and managed to survive by the skin of his teeth to turn the tide and win the game.
i played a game the other day (against CIever i think) where i went first playing golem master and i had E7 and W4. my apologies if i sound harsh or patronizing. but your comments (auto-surrender!) give me the impression that you need to practise your defensive game instead of blaming golem and forest for your losses. i'm not saying the golem class is fine (perhaps it is, perhaps not).
